For Private Lessons, we offer three payment options:

1) Quarterly Tuition (for weekly Private Lessons):

Tuition is a flat quarterly fee. Quarters are divided by major s
chool holidays (Winter Break, Spring Break, Summer Break). Students do not pay for, and do not receive lessons on, weeks of school or national holidays. Our school calendar is here.

  1. Quarterly tuition guarantees a regular weekly lesson time with your teacher.
  2. Quarterly tuition includes participation in our annual recital.
  3. Educational material, music books, instrument rental and other accessories are additional cost.
  4. Students may purchase additional lessons (if preparing for an exam or recital) with a single lesson pass.
  5. Quarterly tuition is due on the first day of each quarter (Oct 1, Jan 9, Apr 16, Jun 18) and is billed to your credit card (VISA or Mastercard) or via paypal.
  6. A $25 late fee will be charged for payment received 7 days after the beginning of each quarter.
  7. A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.

2) Monthly Tuition (for weekly Private Lessons):

Tuition is a flat monthly fee.
Most months have four lessons, although some may have fewer when in observance of school and national holidays. Our school calendar is here. Students pay a flat amount regardless of number of lessons per month.

  1. Monthly tuition guarantees a regular weekly lesson time with your teacher.
  2. Monthly tuition includes participation in our annual recital.
  3. Educational material, music books, instrument rental and other accessories are additional cost.
  4. Students may purchase additional lessons (if preparing for an exam or recital) with a single lesson pass.
  5. Monthly tuition is due monthly on the first day of each month and is billed automatically to your credit card (VISA or Mastercard) or via paypal.
  6. A $25 late fee will be charged for payment received after the 7th of each month.
  7. A $25 fee will be charged for each returned check.

3) Single Lesson Passes:

  1. Single Lesson Passes can be purchased for those students not able to commit to a regular weekly lesson.
  2. There is no guarantee that the same teacher will be available for each lesson, or that each lesson will be at the same day and time.
  3. Educational material, music books, instrument rental and other accessories are additional cost.

4) Trial Lessons: trial lessons are priced the same as a single lesson pass. We do not offer complimentary trial lessons.

Cancellation and Reschedule Policy for Private Lessons:

  1. A make-up lesson pass will be issued when a lesson is cancelled by a student (by email) with at least 24 hours advance notice.
  2. Cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice will not qualify for a make-up pass (this includes being sick the day of the scheduled lesson).
  3. The make-up lesson pass does not expire and can be scheduled upon request (online or by email) at any time with your teacher or a substitute, based on availability.
  4. Make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled and passes cannot be cumulated (Only one make-up lesson pass can be available per student at a time).
  5. If your teacher cancels a lesson, a substitute teacher will be arranged. If a substitute teacher is unavailable, you will be issued a refund for that lesson.

    1. Quarterly and Monthly Tuition may be cancelled with a 14 days notice before the 1st of the month, by sending an email to hummingbirdmusicschool@gmail.com.

    3. Membership is not transferable.
    4. Hummingbird Music School reserves the right to terminate membership, in which case prorated tuition will be refunded.
